Between Tides /

We do not seek to depict nature; rather, we allow light, air, and materiality to become the means through which nature exists within the space.

Inspired by the textures of rock, the movement of the tide, and the refraction of light, the design transforms nature into a spatial language. Mineral plaster, wood-fiber ceilings, stone, and metal retain their authentic character, while light and time reveal subtle layers of texture, allowing the space to breathe with the quiet rhythm of nature.

Inspired by Konpeki (紺碧), the Konpeki volume defines the spatial order while integrating the core functions of the communal area. Movement, sightlines, and light unfold naturally around the volume, while curved forms, negative space, and the diffusion of light connect each area with the gentle rhythm of the tides.

The copper surface gradually develops a natural patina over time, recording the traces of everyday life with honesty and grace. As life leaves its marks, materials become the keepers of time. The space is never static, but continuously shaped by the interaction of light, air, materials, and human activity. In the end, time becomes the final material, allowing the home to grow naturally between the tides of everyday life.
